The government and the Opposition today agreed that MPs should not longer retain the title of 'Honourable' once they retire.
PN deputy leader for Parliamentary Affairs Mario de Marco said that a study by the Speaker's office clearly shows that Malta is in the minority in this regard.
Jokingly saying "at some point we will all be former MPs," Dr de Marco said there is no need for Malta to go against the trend once one is no longer an MP.
Deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech expressed his agreement with Dr de Marco.
