Joseph Calleja will once again this year be performing at a Christmas Concert being organised to raise funds for the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation. This is the second edition of the fund raising Christmas Concert being organised by the Foundation which was set up in October last year. The concert will be held on Saturday, 27 December at the Divine Mercy Chapel in San Pawl Tat-Targa, starting at 7.30pm hours.
This promises to be another special concert featuring Joseph Calleja accompanied by a number of artists and a selection from the BOV Joseph Calleja Children's Choir. The concert will be followed by a reception at Villa Arrigo that will also be attended by Joseph Calleja and the accompanying artists. The accompanying artists will include a number of BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation "scholars" who are benefiting from Foundation support in the pursuit of their studies and the realisation of their talent.
Seats for the concert are available against a donation of €100 each, and can be reserved through the booking website http://www.ooii.com.mt
Benefactors who attend the concert are also invited to the after concert reception at Villa Arrigo.
Joseph Calleja said, "I am looking forward to an intimate event featuring Christmas and other sacred music with the aim of raising funds for the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation. Our objectives are to support children coming from difficult social backgrounds and environments whose situations are not catered for by the existing social support programmes. We are also working to help exceptionally talented children in the field of the performing arts where circumstances are such that they would not be able to realise their full potential without that additional help that the Foundation can provide". He added, "I am pleased to note that even though the Foundation has been set up for just one year, we have already supported a number of talented young people in their quest to reach their full potential. The Christmas Fund Raising Concert is an important event since it helps the Foundation raise the funds that enable it to continue to make a difference in the lives of those who we are supporting".
