The annual winter sales have begun to kick off in Malta today, on Boxing Day.

Shops around the world are slashing prices, as is tradition, on Boxing Day, with the United Kingdom seeing the largest discounts since the collapse of the Lehman Brothers in 2008.

International sites, like Amazon.co.uk, are advertising their largest sale ever this Boxing Day.

In Malta, major outlets have already launched their winter sales, with some shops cutting prices by 50%. All those belated-Christmas gifts can now be bought at a significantly reduced price at shops all around the island. Some of the best sales each year launch around this period.
