Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang led Borussia Dortmund to a 3-0 win at Freiburg to move off the bottom, while Bayern Munich got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Aubameyang set up Marco Reus for Dortmund's opener in the ninth minute and then secured the result by scoring twice in the second half. Dortmund climbed two places into the relegation playoff place, above Freiburg.

"We have to keep believing it can go forward after three of four months in which it didn't. Today was a step in the right direction," said Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp, whose team had 22 shots at goal compared to seven from the home side.

After two games without a win, Arjen Robben and David Alaba scored in either half to give Bayern a 2-0 victory at Stuttgart, which dropped to the bottom.

Andre Schurrle starred on his debut as Wolfsburg beat Hoffenheim 3-0 to stay eight points behind Bayern; Hertha Berlin won 2-0 at Mainz; and Cologne drew 0-0 with Paderborn.

Hamburger SV was hosting Hannover later Saturday.

Dortmund had already gone close through Reus, Ilkay Gundogan and Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa before a wayward back pass from Mike Frantz gifted the ball to Aubameyang, who took it past the goalkeeper and gave Reus a simple tap in.

It was the first Dortmund league goal of the year and the visitors pushed for more. By the 26th minute, they had eight goal attempts compared to none at the other end.

Aubameyang claimed his first with a cool finish in the 56th after Gundogan sent him through, and then sealed the win in the 72nd when he was set up by Kagawa. Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller ran up to celebrate with the rest of the team, indicating the level of relief the goal brought.

"It was a mental problem. The coach found the right words and he made the right calls. That's how we got the result," Aubameyang said.

Bayern struggled to get going against Stuttgart but Robben fired the league leaders ahead with a terrific volley inside the far post in the 41st. The Dutchman combined with Mitchell Weiser before unleashing a rocket past the helpless Sven Ulreich in Stuttgart's goal.

Alaba secured the result five minutes into the second half with a fierce 25-meter free kick which went in under the crossbar.

"After losing and then drawing, it was time for three points," said Robben, who hadn't previously scored against Stuttgart. Leaving Bayern aside, the only Bundesliga club the winger hasn't scored against is promoted Paderborn.

Three minutes into his Wolfsburg debut after joining from Chelsea, Schurrle set up Bas Dost to score against Hoffenheim. The World Cup winner was also involved in his new side's second goal in the 27th, when Kevin de Bruyne scored on the rebound after his initial effort came back off the crossbar.

Dost set up de Bruyne to complete the scoring in the 84th.

Hertha coach Pal Dardai started his tenure with a win after taking over from the fired Jos Luhukay on Thursday.

Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius was sent off after conceding a penalty when he was caught out by Valentin Stocker in the 32nd. Jens Hegeler converted the spot kick.

Stocker was involved in Hertha's second goal by Roy Beerens, who scored on the rebound after Stocker hit the post.

Hertha captain Fabian Lustenberger was sent off with a second yellow card in the 58th but the home side couldn't capitalize.
