Watch: President meets the Queen, hospital NGOs and Commonwealth Society in London visit

On an official state visit to London, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca met with representatives of various entities of hospitals where a number of Maltese patients are undergoing treatment to discuss the best way  in which such patients and their relatives may be assisted.  The President met with representatives from King’s College, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the University College London Hospital.

The President also met with non-governmental organizations including the Sick Children’s’ Trust and Tavistok Centre for Couple Relationships, to discuss collaborative projects and training. Mrs Coleiro Preca also met with the Prince’s Trust to discuss a project which will be beneficial for Maltese youths – the trust invited the President to attend the Celebrating Success Awards to award young people who have set up their own business which had a positive impact on the community.

During a meeting with the Royal Commonwealth Society, the President discussed the importance of raising awareness about the commonwealth community. The Society also invited the President for the Commonwealth Observance, which will be held on 9 March at Westminster Abbey, on the occasion of Commonwealth Day.

The President also had the opportunity to meet with her majesty the Queen.
