Wednesday, 18 March 2015, 15:38 Last update: about 11 years ago

Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil visited St Francis School in Birkirkara earlier today, where it was revealed he used to attend classes as a young boy.

Together with MEP Therese Comodini Cacchia and MP George Pullicino the Opposition Leader sat and read a story to the children called "I don't like to read". The story, told from a young boy's perspective, describes how he never enjoyed reading however eventually tried it and began to love it. It described the importance of reading in order to succeed.

The Opposition Leader's birthday is on Friday and as such the children chose to sing 'happy birthday'.

They concluded the visit by handing books out to children and also donating a pile of books to the school's library.
