The festivities ended in grand style with a great manifestation on Easter Sunday followed by a pageant in the afternoon. 

The first Gozo Easter festival consisted of a kid's play area with bouncing castles, slides and Gladiator arena. All earnings from the food stalls, which sold traditional Easter delicacies, were donated to a family in dire need and the Mission of Gharissa in Kenya with whom the Xagħra parish has a twinning agreement.

Ta' Verna Folk Group entertained those present with folkloristic music and the Għaqda Folklor Xagħra, under the direction of Josephine Azzopardi, performed folkloristic dances. On the main stage Children on the Move entertained all those present.

The Victory Band, under the direction of Mro Joseph Galea LCM, accompanied the statue of the Risen Christ. When the statue was on the parvis on the way into the Basilica, the song Heal the World was sung by the children. Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo, then called all children present in the Square to go near him with their figolli and Easter eggs to have them blessed. He then presented a figolla to each child present.

After the procession, the pagaent Where do you come from? Where are you going?, lyrics by Carmel Bajada with music by Mro Ivan Attard and musical arrangements by John Agius, was held in the square. The audience followed episodes from the time of Creation, through the life of Jesus Christ and finally to the Resurrection.

The Cash and Band closed this year's festivites to the delight of those staying late and the patrons of the many restaurants in Victory Square.
