Plants are amazing! All are welcome to participate in an event being held at Argotti Botanic Gardens in Floriana to celebrate the wonderful diversity of plants and their fundamental role in our lives. Argotti Botanic Gardens of the University of Malta, in cooperation with the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, the UK Society of Biology, the University Science Students' Society - S-Cubed, and MCAST, is organising an educational open weekend "How plants can help us change the world", which wraps up today.

The event provides a rare opportunity to discover some unusual plants and to learn Biology outside the classroom. Through the series of displays, demonstrations, experiments and hands-on activities, the event promotes a better understanding of plants and innovations in plant science. Plant Diversity for Multiple Uses, Herbs and Medicine, Plants and Engineering, Plants and Waste Water, Plants and Climate Change are just a few topics that are going to be investigated.

Staff at the Argotti Botanic Gardens are passionate about the fascinating world of plant science and would like to share their enthusiasm with others and inspire people to think about plants in a new way. Everybody is welcome to join this initiative.
