Finance Minister, Prof. Edward Scicluna, received a courtesy visit by the Minister of Public Administration of Trinidad and Tobago, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan. The two ministers discussed issues of common interest including the role of energy, tourism, foreign investment, diversification and sustainable development in the economic growth of island nations.
Minister Scicluna was accompanied by Commissioner for Revenue, Marvin Gaerty.
Minister Seepersad-Bachan is heading a delegation from her country that has traveled to Malta to hold discussions with the Inland Revenue Department on Malta's success in e-government and to be informed about best practices in the field. Trinidad and Tobago are currently in the process of introducing such a system.
