A 34 man from Hamrun was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 and a deposit of €2,000 after pleading guilty to injuring his wife with a knife during a domestic dispute.

The man was accused of assaulting his wife and slightly injuring her with a knife on Sunday and threatening her on a number of occasions. Sources said the woman suffered slight injuries to her left arm.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia granted bail but cautioned the man and warned him about the consequences of a breach of bail conditions. He also advised him to look after his job and his children. The accused said he would be living with his sister until the situation calms down.

Inspector Robert Vella prosecuted. Lawyers Franco Debono and Angie Muscat appeared for the accused.
