Infinitely Xara's de Mondion restaurant was honoured with the Best in Class Award and Best Hospitality Award, two major accolades of MTA's Quality Assured Awards which were announced during an evening presentation last Tuesday. The awards are part of a Quality Assured Scheme launched in October 2014 which covers destination management companies, visitor attractions and restaurants, an objective and audited way to recognize entities in the tourism industry committed to high levels of quality of professionalism.
de Mondion embodies Relais & Chateaux's commitment to 'make a better world through hospitality and cuisine' and to serve a dazzling representation of world class dining and sterling service. Retaining the devotion of local patrons and tourists who are spoilt for choice is not an easy task, especially when the venue's reputation justifiably leads one to expect perfection. The menu created by Kevin Bonello and his team deftly combines international flavours with mostly local ingredients as well as a real understanding of how to layer flavours and textures. An exceptional wine list and a serving team, who somehow are always as present as one wants them to be, complete a picture of flawlessness.
"Whatever we do is given exacting attention" explains Infinitely Xara's General Manager David Spiteri. "The results are a real statement of focus and balance. Our team consistently deliver a top culinary adventure and I feel extremely proud that de Mondion and Trattoria AD 1530, our two restaurants at The Xara Palace Relais & Chateaux, have now been conferred with this QA seal," Mr Spiteri continues.
Infinitely Xara's Managing Director Justin Zammit Tabona explains: "Malta has so much to offer. MTA's QA Awards remind everyone of the quality, authenticity and vision of the Maltese...One can't help but feel proud to be part of this achievement."
