Italian Football Federation says Conte could keep job even if indicted for fixing

The Italian football federation has indicated that national coach Antonio Conte could keep his job even if he's indicted for match-fixing.

Conte is under investigation by prosecutors in Cremona for allegedly committing sports fraud when he coached Siena in 2010-11. Indictments in the case are expected in the next month.

Federation president Carlo Tavecchio says, "An indictment is not a conviction. The coach has our full understanding, confidence, and solidarity."

Conte, who has denied wrongdoing, has already served a four-month sports ban in the case during the 2012-13 season when he coached Juventus.

Players have told prosecutors that Conte knew of games being fixed in 2011.

Tavecchio adds, "Conte has been tormented by justice officials for four years. He has the right to be judged in a reasonable time frame."
