Even Joseph Muscat’s roadmap appears to be stuck in traffic – Nationalist Party

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat’s roadmap appears to be the latest casualty of the traffic problem in Malta, according to the Nationalist Party.

The shadow minister for transport Marthese Portelli said that prior to the election Joseph Muscat has promised a plan to reduce traffic congestion.

He said he had a roadmap, but even this appears to be stuck in traffic, Dr Portelli said.

The Opposition appealed to the government to implement this famous “roadmap” to mitigate traffic congestion in Malta.

Traffic congestion is not a perception, and neither are the exhaust fumes in people’s lungs, Dr Portelli said.

Car exhaust fumes have increased by 2.5 per cent in Malta according to figures released by Eurostat, the EU’s statistics agency, while the rest of the EU saw a decrease of around 5 per cent, Dr Portelli said.

It pinned this increase on the government’s failure to tackle the traffic problem in Malta.
