Partner support agreement signed between Malta Chamber and HSBC Bank Malta

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry and HSBC Bank Malta have strengthened their excellent relations via the signing of a Partner Support Agreement. The agreement was signed by Malta Chamber President Anton Borg and Michel Cordina, Head of Commercial Banking at HSBC Malta.

"HSBC Bank and the Malta Chamber go back a long way" Mr Borg said. "With HSBC's assistance over the past years we have carried out valuable work through our Internationalisation Desk, providing demand-driven services, inspired by an ongoing membership profiling exercise. The Malta Chamber's efforts in this regards, have made it possible for its members, especially smaller sized enterprises, to gear up for internationalisation, identifying markets for growth, and expanding their reach" Mr Borg explained.

Mr Borg said "HSBC Bank is the ideal partner to support the Malta Chamber's internationalisation efforts with a presence in 70 countries round the globe." With HSBC's ongoing support, the Malta Chamber has organised numerous initiatives to help businesses network with their international peers, as it participated on several trade missions to various countries round the globe, and welcomed other trade missions to Malta. In parallel, the Malta Chamber today boasts Business Councils for Germany, the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Scandinavia.

Mr Cordina said "Today represents an exciting step forward for enterprise in Malta. This strategic alliance reinforces HSBC Commercial Banking's objective to serve as a bridge for Maltese businesses looking to transform into international players. The partnership allows HSBC and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry to explore joint opportunities and deliver growth and value to Maltese business and assist the Maltese Economy to grow."
