Dr Edward de Bono has been chosen as one of 15 International Ambassadors of Knowledge by the Life Learning Academia at the Academic Economic Congress.
Dr Edward de Bono is a leader and a worldwide teacher to the younger generations - the ones who will lead us in the future. He believes we will depend on their work, knowledge and skills.
Highlighting his ongoing contributions, socially-responsible Dr de Bono was recently awarded by the Life Learning Academia (LLA) at the Academic Economic Congress, a worldwide event in Slovenia to present and reward knowledge. Dr de Bono received the appointment of "Ambassador of Knowledge", thus signifying an individual that meets all the criteria required by this appointment with their diligence, expertise, credibility and ethic.
Attended by politicians, economists and other international public figures, AEC is an event that unites people from around the world who are distinguished by high ethical standards and expertise in various fields.
LLA are determined to connect different experts from all over the world, to share practical knowledge and connect youngsters with experts on specific fields. LLA select and invite Ambassadors of Knowledge.
"We have invited and chosen Dr Edward de Bono as an Ambassador of Knowledge because he is a great person, with a lot of experience, a lot of knowledge and because his method of Lateral Thinking is something incredible and useful for our young generations," said Marjetka Kastner, director of Life Learning Academia. "He is the biggest thinker in this scenario and we are very honoured that he responded to our invitation and that he is prepared to dedicate time to cooperate with us."
Andreja Jernejcic Vizjak, MSc, the president of Learning Organisations explained how she hopes to expose everyone who supports knowledge or knowledge transfer, and to share it unselfishly. "This is what Ambassadors of Knowledge are for," she says. "This year, we have selected Slovenian ambassadors as well as Ambassadors of Knowledge from around the world. Ambassadors of Knowledge from various companies recognise (unemployed) young people who stand out, are ambitious, create something more and are therefore put forward to receive the Reference Award, which will give them the opportunity for a steady job."
In fact, studies and practices of successful companies show that only those companies or organizations that invest and educate their staff in the right way can grow and be successful.
"We should know that the 'big and successful' people learn throughout their whole lives from young people, the elderly, co-workers, at conferences, courses or workshops," continues Mr Vizjak. "Every minute, tens of new deliberations and kinds of knowledge are published online. We will never view all of them. But we will grow by being aware of them, following some and allowing ourselves to grow. Only those who allow themselves to produce bold ideas can be innovative. Only those who are willing to devote their free time to personal development can grow. Only those organisations that give time, which we have less and less of, to knowledge and thus education can develop.
Moving forward, the LLA will start to internationally invite faculties who want to cooperate with it and for students and youngsters to apply for a Reference Award.
As an international Ambassador Dr de Bono's new role will be to distinguishably select applicants for the Reference Award, which will go beyond our current education system. It is a role Dr de Bono is very much looking forward to and LLA will soon be in touch with faculties in Malta.
