The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) has launched a new module in its 2015/2016 prospectus - medical tourism - to target the medical tourism niche market as part of its objective to embark on new areas of study to diversify the hospitality industry and to prepare students for challenges that the industry will face in the near future. 

The module is a new development niche, which will be offered as part of the diploma in travel and tourism operations. It will provide course participants a general understanding of the medical tourism industry, and prepares and trains them in different aspects of medical tourism with respect to travel and tourism operations. 

Commenting on this development Mr. Pierre Fenech – Executive Director of the Institute said “this falls in line with the strategy of ITS, which is that of being forward-looking to the developments within the tourism sector, and ready for what the industry is demanding.”
