President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca this morning inaugurated a road named after Malta in Strasbourg. The road, Quai de Malte, is situated on the waterfront of the river Ill.

This marked the 50th anniversary since Malta joined the European Council, following the perseverance of Judge Joseph Filletti, Permanent Represent for Malta in the European Council.

During the inauguration, the president spoke of the relationship between France and Malta, which dates back to the Knights of St John and Jean de Valette.

The president visited City Hall in Strasbourg, where she met with the mayor, Rolan Ries. She also visited the museum for modern art, situated near Quai de Malte.
