Finance Minister Edward Scicluna has just entered the third eurogroup meeting for this week as European Finance Ministers struggle to reach agreement on the Greek bailout. Approached by journalists, Professor Scicluna said: “We are running out of comments and we are running out of patience.”
Earlier today Greece sent counter proposals to all euro Finance Ministers countering the proposals made earlier by the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the European Commission.
The Maltese Finance Minister was unable to tell journalists what was in these proposals, saying that he had only received them half an hour before and that they came on a separate document to the original proposals. The rest of the Finance Ministers were probably in the same situation, he said.
He could also not give a clear answer as to whether a solution would be found in this particular eurogroup meeting.
