The Debono Group of Companies including Michael Debono Ltd (MDL), importers of Toyota vehicles in Malta, is operating as normal following the unfortunate incident of 6 July, during which an unknown person damaged the showroom in Żebbuġ with an incendiary device, the company said.

No one was injured in the incident, which is the currently the subject of a magisterial inquiry.

A company spokesperson said: “We are overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of support and solidarity shown by so many of our customers, business partners and also by the public in general, following this unusual incident. Our staff has also been extremely supportive. The group has always striven to develop the best of relations with our customers, our community in Żebbuġ and society in general, and we aspire to foster this approach going forward. In recent years, the group has broadened its operations considerably, thereby also expanding its workforce fourfold from around 40 a few years ago.
