Green MEPs, Helga Truepel and Franziska Keller have, in collaboration with Alternattiva Demokratika, tabled a parliamentary question asking if European funds are being used for the AFM project at Haywharf and, if yes, how much money is being given by the EU and under what budget headline.
AD Chairperson, Prof. Arnold Cassola, said: "We are asking if the financing of such eyesore is in compliance with the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, to which the EU and all Member States are party, as well as with Article 3 of he European Union Treaty, namely:'It shall respect its rich cultural and linguistic diversity, and shall ensure that Europe's cultural heritage is safeguarded and enhanced'?".
