PS Ian Borg presents €1m in European funds to beneficiaries of 22 projects

Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds and EU Presidency 2017 Ian Borg presented over 1 million euro of EU Funds from the Majjistral Local Action Group to 22 beneficiaries during a press conference held at the Auberge d’Aragon.

These 22 projects will be benefitting from the 3rd call being financed under the LEADER Programme.

Out of these 22 projects; 15 are non-governmental organizations, 3 self-employed and 4 more registered as private entities. Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg explained that this was a call aimed at artistic and cultutral entities who can perform their role as educators and entertainers apart from providing a social dimension which is inclusive of various interests and age gorups. 

This call was also applicable to small enterprises that operate within the arts and cultural sectors – with the general aim of widening economic growth.

Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg congratulated each and every beneficiary and wished them well for the forthcoming implimentation period of their projects.  He also encourged them to look forward and step forward towards future calls that can even help them sustain their work and their activities.
