The Hamrun District Police early this morning arrested a man who was acting suspiciously clse to a shop which was then found to have been broken into.

The police were informed that two men were acting suspiciously close to a shop in Triq il-Kappillan Mifsud corner with Triq Kanonku Bonnici in Hamrun at around 2.20am this morning.

Upon the arrival of the officers, one man fled the scene however the other one, an 18-year-old residing in Hamrun, was apprehended. Tools which are usually related to theft were found, while the shop was noted as having been forced open.

From preliminary investigations it results that no items were stolen, although investigations are still ongoing.
