The President’s Cruise for Charity was held today in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund.

All boat and craft owners together with their families and friends were encouraged to participate. Those present were also asked to hoist the event flag. There were 200 boat owners who participated in the event. A total 500 persons were aboard the boats. President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, who was aboard the AFM’s patrol boat P51 along with her husband Edgar, thanked the many people who attended and the organisers. She said that the MCCF is receiving as many as 200 new applications a month, ranging from health problems to poverty.

Participants sailed from the Grand Harbour to St Paul’s Bay. Participants were asked to donate €15 per boat and €5 per person.
