During a consultation meeting with members of the MCESD, the Opposition highlighted the need for pensions to be "adequate and sustainable".
The meeting was held in light of upcoming pension reforms.
PN Deputy Leader Mario De Marco, PN MP Paula Mifsud Bonnici and PN MP Robert Cutajar attended on behalf of the party.
Dr De Marco argued that the party believes in consultation, arguing that the reform that occurred under the previous administration was based on consultation.

By 2060, the PN representatives said, the life expectancy of men is expected to rise by 7.9 years, and by 6.5 years for women. Dr De Marco stressed the importance of the success of pension reform.
Dr Mifsud Bonnici said that it is crucial for pensions to adjust every 5 years, in order to assure that pensions are sustainable. She stressed the importance for consultation to be held with all sectors. "The Opposition looks at the pensions system with the following aims - to contribute towards economic growth, improve the activity of the elderly, be adequate and sustainable for the elderly to have a European standard of life and guarantee today's workers' adequate and sustainable pensions.
The Opposition will organize a number of meetings with different entities who represent the people who might be affected by this reform in the coming days.
The social partners praised the Opposition for this consultation.
