Monday, 13 July 2015, 15:39 Last update: about 10 years ago

Staff at Agenda Bookshop will be dressing down once a month to raise money for children's cancer foundation Puttinu Cares.

To launch the initiative, a team from Agenda Bookshop visited the Rainbow Ward at Mater Dei Hospital and surprised the children with a number of colourful books and toys.

Staff at all Miller Retail outlets, including Agenda Bookshop, 8 Till Late, Bookends, Newskiosk, Malta International Airport Pharmacy and Butlers, will wear white Puttinu Cares t-shirts once a month, while head office staff will wear casual clothing.

All employees will be making a small donation towards the foundation and customers will also be invited to contribute to the collection tins around the outlets.

"We have several employees whose family members are currently battling cancer, so this is a cause that's extremely close to our hearts. This is not only about raising money but also showing our support to our colleagues and friends who are going through such a tough time," said Emma Sullivan, Marketing Manager at Agenda Bookshop, adding that all the employees agreed to participate wholeheartedly in the initiative.

This Easter, The Grand Book Sale organised by Agenda Bookshop helped raise €3,000 for Puttinu Cares Foundation.
