The Spanish-owned public transport provider is not obliged to give the government certain information, Transport Minister Joe Mizzi said in Parliament in reply to a question about bus maintenance.
Mr Mizzi said the company is however obliged to follow certain maintenance requirements laid down by the law and the contract signed between the operator and the government.
Mr Mizzi said the roadworthiness of the buses is also tested during the VRT.
Asked by PN MP Mario De Marco when the contract signed by the bus operator will be published, Mr Mizzi said it will be tabled in Parliament at the opportune moment.
Mr Mizzi has been giving this same reply ever since the new operator took over the service.
