The Health Promotion Department has issued a heat wave warning, suggesting that people should drink more water and avoid staying in the sun between 11am and 4pm.
In a statement, the department noted that the forecast for the coming days shows that the temperatures will rise in the coming days.
It therefore urged the people to drink more water, eat fresh food and not to stay outside in the peak hours.
This is because such temperatures can cause dehydration and sunburn.
According to the Met Office, temperatures are expected to rise to 35 degrees Celsius on Saturday and remain so high at least until Tuesday.
Other websites, such as Maltaweather.com, are predicting temperatures to go as high as 37 degrees on Sunday, and 38 degrees on Tuesday.
