In a statement sent to Finance Minister Edward Scicluna, Chief Electoral Commissioner Joseph Churh said that the Spring Hunting Referendum cost €4,631,688.
This sum excluded the €1,349,538 paid to Air Malta for voters who returned to the island for the referendum. The statement was tabled in Parliament.
As part of the €4.6 million, remuneration to electoral employees cost - €244,016, €953,545 was paid to assistant commissioners, temporary personnel received €1,628,663, Contractual services, property improvement, hospitality and equipment cost €734,894, utilities, operating materials and supplies and repairs cost €194,784, office services cost €441,263, local transport cost €387,722, and information services cost €46,801.
