Norwegian girl hit by bus, two passengers injured in Sliema

The two carriageways of Tower Road, Sliema were temporarily closed to traffic after three people were injured in a traffic accident this morning, the police said.

The accident happened at 9.45am when a Norwegian 15-year-old girl was hit by a bus close to the Chalet. 

Two passengers were also hurt, the police said. They are a 50-year-old Frenchman and a 68-year-old Swieqi resident.

The three were taken to hospital for treatment. The police said later that the Norwegian woman and the Frenchman suffered grevious injuries while the Maltese man was slightly injured. 

The police said the two foreigners reside in different hotels in Gzira.
