A 23-year-old Italian man and a 21-year-old Swiss woman were earlier today after the quadbike they were riding crashed in Triq ix-Xatt ta’ San Gorg in St Julians.

The accident took place at around 5am. The police said the Italian man lost control of the vehicle, which toppled over. The man and the woman, who was also riding the quadbike, were both injured.

The tourists were ferried to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance where they were certified to be suffering from serious injuries but are not in danger of dying.
