On Tuesday afternoon, firefighters from Stations 2, 4 and 11 responded to a fire inside an abandoned building in Gżira, the Civil Protection Department said on its Facebook page.

The fire was successfully brought under control, and no injuries were reported.

Police officers from the 7th District and a medical team from the emergency department of Mater Dei Hospital were also present to assist with the operation.

The road was temporarily closed to allow emergency personnel to operate safely. We thank the public for their patience and cooperation.
