Technology outsourcing and consultancy company Accenture plc announced this week that it has helped Shanghai Electric Power Co. Ltd in its initial expansion into the European energy market, which included investments in the power-generating market in Malta as part of its globalisation efforts.
In its strategic consulting role, Accenture said it will now help Shanghai Electric with “post-merger integration in Malta and with international branding” in the wake of its first European power-generation investment.
The company said that Accenture Strategy provided professional advisory services to support Shanghai Electric in its acquisition of a 33 per cent stake in Malta's state-owned energy company Enemalta plc, and of a 90 per cent stake in Delimara 3.
Accenture added that Shanghai Electric will also form a joint venture with Enemalta to develop a renewable energy business, eyeing markets abroad.
