Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer of 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, which was filmed in Malta and Morocco over the past few months.

The film, starring actors John Krasinski, Max Martini and James Badge Dale, was directed by Michael Bay. It was shot in several locations, including Mosta, Valletta, Manoel Island and Corradino.

The film is based on attack by Libyan militias on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi in 2013, during which American Ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed.

Based on the book by Mitchell Zuckoff, it tells the story of six private contractors of the security team that fought to defend the compound.

The film, which is expected to be released on 15 January 2016, left some $50 million in the Maltese economy.
