A man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a motorcycle in Mosta on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened at around 3:45pm in Triq San Pawl tal-Qliegħa, when a Yamaha 125 motorcycle, driven by a 25-year-old man from St Paul's Bay, collided with the pedestrian, police said.

The pedestrian's identity is not yet known.
A medical team was called to the scene and an ambulance took both men to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

The pedestrian was later confirmed to have sustained serious injuries, while the condition of the motorcyclist was still being assessed.

Police investigations are ongoing.
