A 27-year-old man from Qormi today denied defiling two minors.

Appearing before Magistrate Anthony Vella, Christian Xuereb pleaded not guilty to engaging in sexual activities with two girls, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old.

Mr Xuereb was also accused of spreading indecent material of minors through Facebook, as well as relapsing.

He denied all the charges.

Prosecuting officers Sylvana Briffa and Roderick Agius told the Court that Mr Xuereb send a naked photo of the 14-year-old to other people.

Mr Xuereb allegedly met the two youths through Facebook, and started a relationship with them from there.

Defence lawyer Josette Sultana said the girls consented to the sexual activities.

Magistrate Vella denied bail and remanded Mr Xuereb in custody out of fear that he may tamper with evidence or approach the witnesses.
