Friends of the Earth (FOE) today held a protest against the “Trojan Horse Treaty” that is the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.

In a symbolic protest held outside city gate underneath an imposing 8 metre Trojan Horse, FOE said the TTIP contains many hidden dangers (secret corporate courts, GMOs, removal of environmental protection, privatisation, increase the power of corporations etc.) which would mean massive impacts on people, the planet and our future.

“There is a long-standing struggle in Europe between environmental, consumer and social protection, and business interests who want to remove these safeguards
TTIP is presented as a gift for Europe, providing “jobs and growth,” FOE said.
