JCI Malta is accepting nominations until 1 September for the 10 Outstanding Young Persons Award

JCI Malta is currently receiving local nominations for the prestigious annual Total Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) award. The award formally recognises and honours 10 Outstanding Young Persons of the World in their chosen fields. The award recognises the young persons' own self-development, achievements or even service to humanity in a variety of ways.

How often do we have the pleasure to cross paths with someone who stops us in our tracks for their contribution to mankind? Those moments must be treasured and shown to the world. TOYP is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Men and women aged 18 and 40 may be nominated in one of 10 categories. A set of independent and reputed judges will then select the 10 Outstanding Young Persons from Malta, who would then be nominated to be shortlisted to participate in the programme worldwide.

In the past, TOYP nominees have come from all walks of life, professions and industries. Locally, we have recognised the success of some of Malta's most courageous entrepreneurs, academics, artists, athletes, engineers, volunteers and politicians, among many others.

On an international level, some of the most well known TOYP winners include veteran actors and former US presidents, all for their exceptional achievements before the age of 40, namely Orson Welles and John F. Kennedy. One can see a comprehensive list of past TOYP winners in the following link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outstanding_Young_Persons_of_the_World

Nominations will be accepted for each of the following categories: Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment; Political, legal, and/or governmental affairs; Academic leadership and/or accomplishment; Cultural achievement; Moral and/or environmental leadership; Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human rights; Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership; Scientific and/or technological development; Personal improvement and/or accomplishment and Medical innovation.

Therefore if you know of anyone whose achievements inspire you, nominate them for the TOYP award, so they will act as an inspiration for many others.

Anyone interested in nominating his or her source of inspiration, should get in touch with JCI Malta by email on [email protected] or on 9987 4711, 7909 1984. More information is available on www.jci.org.mt
