The appearance of a rather erotic looking establishment has raised some eyebrows in Valletta, however turns out to be part of a set for the film 'Immediate Boarding'.

The site, situated on St' John's street, looks to represent some sort of strip club and some residents in the area were quite shocked by its appearance.

Valletta Mayor Alexiei Dingli explained that the set will be taken down tomorrow, after filming on that site concludes.

'Immediate Boarding' is a French comedy written and directed by Philippe de Chauveron, who last year took the international box office by storm with his hit film 'Serial Bad Weddings'.

Earlier this year, Justice Minister Owen Bonnici announced legal reforms, which will technically allow the opening of porn shops on the island, as long as clear warnings are placed outside the shop.

The warning must read: "Warning. Persons passing beyond this notice will find material on display which they may consider indecent. No admittance to persons under 18 years of age."

Distribution of pornographic material in public spaces, and the exposure of children to such material will still be illegal.

Justice Minister Owen Bonnici had said the reforms showed that government is not the moral custodian of adult people.

"Adults are to be treated as adults... These reforms aim to incentivise freedom of artistic expression while protecting the vulnerable," 

The Mayor explained that to his knowledge, Mepa does not permit the opening of porn shops or strip clubs in Valletta.
