Summer may be ending earlier than its official date – 21 September – judging by the weather forecast for next week on several weather sites.

Rain is predicted as from Tuesday with a strong possibility that there will also be thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, according to maltaweather.com

The site is saying that there is a 60% of rain on Wednesday which increases to 65% for the next day, while the possibility of thunderstorms for both days is 45%.

The site weather.com is also predicting thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday.

It is only the Malta Meteorological Office that is giving some more hope to people who love summer, as it is forecasting “chance of showers” on Wednesday, with no mention of thunderstorms.

Of course, it may all change.

But this weekend could be the last real summer, so perhaps one should grab a towel and head to the beach.
