Labour MP Godfrey Farrugia is in London to undergo delicate surgery after he was diagnosed with having an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
Writing on Facebook, the Labour Party whip said that he is there with his partner Marlene Farrugia, also a Labour MP, and on Monday he will continue with the pre-op preparations.
“I have been informed that the surgery with the use of robot will take place on 15 September,” he wrote.
“The anaesthetic to be use is one of routine, but the surgery is delicate and major. It is expected that I spend some time in ITU,” he said.
Dr Farrugia said he is confident and has his mid at rest, and he has so many people to be grateful to.
“In these moments I remember all that is beautiful in life and, yes, I want to beat this cruel disease”.
