Traffic in Naxxar Road, San Gwann this morning came to a standstill after a head on collision involving two cars, with another two cars also hit.

Fortunately no one was injured when an Alfa Romeo and a Smart car collided as they were being driven in opposite directions up the busy and narrow main road. Two parked cars were also hit.

The cars were left in place in the middle of the road until the wardens arrived, leaving motorists fuming.

Some drivers decided to turn back and find alternate routes but passengers on buses were not so lucky and had to sit it out.
