A 77-year-old woman from Gharb is in critical condition after the car she was in crashed into a wall in Zabbar this afternoon, the police said.

The accident happened at around 3.45pm in Villa Abate Street.

The car, a Toyota Aygo, was being driven by a 77-year-old from Gharb.

The two were taken to hospital where the woman was found to be in critical condition. The man’s condition is unknown.

The police are investigating. Magistrate J. Demicoli ordered an inquiry.

A motorcyclist is also in critical condition after he fell off a bike he was riding in Gebla tal-General Street, San Lawrenz, Gozo.

The police said the accident happened at 2.50pm.

The man, a 69-year-old of Hamrun, was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was found to be incritical condition.
