A large amount of money and jewellery were stolen in a hold-up at a shop in Paola, the police said.
The robbery took place in Paola’s main square at around 1115.
The police said a shop employee – a 27-year-old Fgura woman – was serving clients when a man wearing a crash helmet barged in and held an unknown object to her side while demanding money. The woman obliged and opened a showcase containing jewellery. She also gave him money. The man then ran off.
No one was injured in the hold-up. The police are investigating.
