The Home Affairs Ministry has presented a €10,000 donation to the RISE foundation, which helps inmates of the Corradino prison to re-integrate into society.

The donation was presented during one of the activities currently being held at the prison to celebrate the feast of the Addolorata.

Minister Carmelo Abela thanked prison staff and the RISE foundation for their work. He noted that the foundation has recently opened up a home in Valletta where most of the work was done by inmates under the direction of prison staff.

RISE Foundation Chairman Charles Mifsud thanked the Ministry for its constant support and urged inmates to make use of the services offered by the foundation.

Prison Chaplain Fr Franco Fenech also thanked the Ministry. He said that, while donations were important to carry our certain projects, the most encouraging thing was the support always shown by the ministry the CCF administration and the inmates themselves.

A number of activities are being organised on the occasion of the feast this year. These include mass on Sunday and a performance by the Hamrun San Gejtanu band.
