Two Panamanian women have been charged in court today, in relation to the 11 kilograms of cocaine found on another two Panamanians earlier this Summer.

21-year-old Anays Cecile Gonzalez Estribi and 21-year-old Iriceth Vanessa Carabia Araujo were charged with the importation on cocaine and conspiracy to commit drug trafficking. They were also charged with drug possession.  The prosecution requested that all their property be sequestered and this request was granted by the courts. The court granted this request.

A request for bail was not made.

Earlier this Summer, two students, also from Panama, were charged with conspiring to import drugs, importing cocaine and possession of cocaine found in circumstances denoting it was not for their personal use. The court then had heard how the drugs were found in hidden compartments in their suitcase. Today’s arraignment was made in relation to that case.
