The visit to Malta by the members of the FIAT 500 Club Italia from Modica and neighbouring cities in Sicily has been deemed a great success.
The 22 members of the FIAT 500 Club Italia appreciated that they were met on their arrival in Malta by the representative of the Malta Automobile Club, who accompanied them throughout their visit to Malta with David Arrigo's FIAT British racing green Barchetta.
The whole programme for the weekend was drawn up by the Malta Automobile Club in consultation with Angelo Fiore.
Transport Minister Joe Mizzi welcomed the Italian group soon after their arrival at the Ministry in Floriana. He was presented with the emblem of the Club and an assortment of sweets produced in Modica, including the famous chocolate.
The group was then led on a brief tour to Valletta. After check-in at the hotel, they were taken for a visit to Mdina.
Last Sunday morning the group gathered at the Dock No. 1 in Cottonera with the kind permission of the Bormla Local Council, where they were joined by a good number of classic FIAT 500 of Maltese owners, together with more recent FIAT 500 models, attracted to the event by FIAT Malta. The group covered 267 km on Maltese roads.
