In a statement, the government said that various statements issued by Eurostat continue to confirm the good economic situation in Malta.

After Eurostat stated that Malta witnessed an increase in industrial production in July, four times more than that observed in the eurozone, now Eurostat has said that during the first seven months of this year, exports of products increased by eight per cent when compared to the less than five per cent increase in the eurozone.

Malta, in fact, was rated among the first three countries in the eurozone in terms of an increase in exports, the statement read.

It also quoted the statement issued by the National Statistics Office which shows inflation in August was down to 0.9% when compared to the 3.2% inflation which existed during the previous legislature.
