In a statement the Nationalist Party has welcomed the inauguration of the Centre of Oncology Sir Anthony Mamo. This center, along with the National Cancer Plan was the culmination of work in the health sector of the Nationalist Party in government. The PN in government had introduced the breast screening and bowel cancer screening and the introduction of 11 new medicines to treat various cancers.

The PN said that the transfer from Boffa Hospital Centre's new Oncology lasted 9 months when the same process from St Luke's Hospital to Mater Dei Hospital lasted two weeks. It happened because people who had the experience of the previous process were removed.

The PN stated that it is also unfortunate that for the inaugurations ceremony many staff members were not invited. Neither the civil servants, FMS and volunteers of VOLSERV were invited. These workers and volunteers have become fundamental to the migration and would thus open the Centre.
