As leading importers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, dermo-cosmetics, medical equipment and other healthcare related products, Prohealth Ltd, is one of the sponsors supporting the Mobile Dental Unit recently launched by the Research, Innovation & Development Trust at the University of Malta.

This unit is the innovative idea of Profs Nikolai Attard, Dean at the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the University of Malta, and is intended to offer on-the-road dental checkups to various communities whilst also compiling data on the wellbeing of the nation's general dental health.

"Whoever gets access to the Mobile Unit is going to be screened, and will receive a check up," explains Dr Gabriella Gatt, project coordinator of the Mobile Dental Unit. "The person will also be told if they need to visit a dentist or change their eating and/or drinking habits and their oral hygiene practices.  Ultimately, each person will be receiving tailored advice."

The Mobile Dental Unit project aspires to be an invaluable asset to the dental profession by visiting schools, parishes and other communities in order to further improve general oral healthcare of the nation.

For these past 13 years, Prohealth Ltd has been closely collaborating with the Maltese dental profession, and the sponsorship towards the Mobile Dental Unit is a further manifestation of its commitment in this important field of healthcare.
