Studenti Demokristjani Maltin has expressed its “disappointment and disbelief” at another delay from the MATSEC board with regard to the publishing of results for the September examination session, including both first-sits and resits.
“This morning an update, posted on one of MATSEC's social media accounts revealed that the concerned body plan to publish results of the aforementioned session "by the end of September".
On behalf of students waiting for such results, SDM gather that this delay will definitely put students in a hugely unfavourable situation as they will be kept in the dark, on whether they (the students) are eligible to pursue their studies further at their institution of choice. “By the end of September” means that the concerned students shall have less than a week’s notice before the new academic year starts.
As an organisation, SDM believes that such issues should not prevail, as this causes additional stress on students, who by now should already be gearing up for the academic year ahead.
It is very discouraging that the educational authority does not live up to the standards which are expected of it, as year after year the duration between examination sessions and the publishing of results are published at unstipulated dates rather than fixed dates, this keeps the students on edge and in the dark with regards to their future.
In light of this, SDM shall be in contact with the MATSEC board to seek clarification on the matter; while exerting pressure as so to keep the stakeholders at the forefront of such an issue.
The concerned party should do its utmost to ensure that students are pushed to pursue studies further rather than cause hinder and hurdles.”
